FOALS - BIG BIG LOVE (Fig.2)

asleep, a guess so.... absence, awhile

Around the world, airplanes were being grounded because nobody could fly over Iceland. Everybody else was fearing nature, but Björk was worshipping it because she needs nature to breathe, like an Icelandic high priestess.

As an artist, she´s always on the edge of everything, but it´s not trendy because even when she is working with the latest technology, fashion, images or sounds, she is always offering her own, deeply personal world. If you are really true to yourself and really follow your intuition in the most rigorous way, there is a moment that becomes universal, that reaches everybody. That´s the real magic of Björk. She teaches us the courage to be ourselves.
Björk.

    Abramovic was not daydreaming.

... What's the cost?
Ah, a big one. Lots of loneliness, my dear.  ...It's too much. If you're not fragile and dependent, they're fascinated by you, but only for a little while. ... So, lots of lonely hotel rooms, my dear.

... But my dream is to have those Sunday mornings, where you're eating breakfast and reading books with somebody. I'm so old fashioned in real life, and I'm so not old fashioned in art. But I believe in true love, so perhaps it will happen. Right now, no, I have no space. BUT LIFE HAS BEEN GOOD TO ME. Lots of pain. BUT IT'S OK.

When I do things I do them properly, and then the other Marina comes and is very fragile and very vain and wants to eat Ice-cream!  ;9

I LOVE TO ENJOY EVERYTHING. Then comes this moment to work - and it becomes a question of life or death.

... Absolutely. Oh my God! Yes, it hurts so much. I love this question. You really left the best for the end. But it hurts GOOD. Good hurting is like when you get massage. You know it hurts, but you have muscle pain and massage will make you feel better.   ...
M. Abramovic.

... Then as regards the actual connection between spirit and body I consider that the body by reason of being a living body can "attract" and hold on to a "spirit" whilst the body is alive and awake and the two are firmly connected. When the body is asleep I cannot guess what happens but when the body dies the "mechanism" of the body, holding the spirit, is gone ...

... As regards the question of why we have bodies at all; why we do not or cannot live free as spirits and communicate as such, we probably could do so but there would be nothing whatever to do.

The body provides something for the spirit to look after and use.
